"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark word and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms" Eph 6:12.
The morning started horrible. I found myself sitting in the hallway of the school asking myself if I have what it takes to do this job. I was down and out. I was tired. I was hurt. I wanted to sell everything I had and move somewhere exotic and rent bicycles to tourists. Jennifer could teach hula lessons and we could walk the beaches every night.
I told God "I need you!" At that moment my good friend Dave called. He was there and was looking for me. So we got together and prayed. My simple prayer was this, "I can’t do this this morning. It has to be you God. In my weakness your strength is made perfect." Unbeknownst to me, Daniel was having an equally hard time.
My only weapon that morning I saw fit to use was worship. I was determined to drive out darkness by worship. When I worship, God inhabits….period. And so that is what we did. We sang Mighty to Save and God fell. And we rested in that presence. Ask Daniel or myself…it was the most memorable service of Lighthouse Church. When I am weak he is strong.
We are at war. We should never forget that. And we shouldn’t forget the verse after 6:12,
"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand."
