Each Wednesday we get together as a staff and pray. Also we talk openly about our lives in 4 areas: Faith, Family, Finances, and Fitness. This is why you are about to read what is below.
I have a confession to make….I’m out of shape. Bad. Gettn’ the beer belly without the beer. The problem is that I like junk food. Um…let me rephrase that. I like sweets. Cakes, cookies, ice cream, Oreos….which by the way are the best cookie on the face of the planet. There’s a whole post on that alone. There isn’t a night that I don’t want dessert.
Frankly I’m engineered in a way that that stuff doesn’t effect me all that much. I hover around the same weight. Eat well – eat badly – still same weight. So what’s the point? Well I always feel tired. I’m out of breath. I hate our town home because it includes stairs. Pathetic.
So in a moment of weakness I bought an exercise program. Yeah I know – not worth the money. You won’t stick with it. Blah blah blah. Here’s my problem: 1. I hate the gym. Just feel like a fish out of water 2. Gym is expensive. 3. Gym has contract. So if I don’t stick with it…I’m out a lot of money.
So in my amazing mind-blowing wisdom, I chose to take 2 months of gym membership and buy P90-X from Beachbody. Been eyeing it for months and I just HAD to do it. Jennifer and I are planning on doing it together. Here is the funny part…or sad part…I read somewhere that you need to be in some sort of shape before doing this program…Oh well, too late.
So stay tuned and hold us accountable. Maybe in 90-days I can show you a chiseled man of muscular steel…or at the least someone who can climb a set of stairs in one breath.
P.S….no way am I posting my before pictures. Dream on!
I could have given you a copy of the program. I bought it a couple of years ago. I think it would work pretty well if stuck to. I would much rather do my own cardio and diet, than the plan. I really like the muscle part.
snicker.
Not like I’m not in the same boat, except in my case it’s the bowflex that’s calling my name. at least my instrument is a bit more physical than yours, so does my practice count as exercise?
Jeremy. What is up. Found you through Jim Henry’s blog. Not sure if you remember me… Liberty… Dorm 8… How are things going?
so how did it go?
