Whatcha?

I love it when people ask how many brothers and sisters I have.   As of Saturday I can now say:

"I have:

3 brothers,

1 sister,

1 half-brother (don't really get that terminology),

3 step-sisters,

AND 2 adopted sisters!"

Congrats to Kayla and Sabrina for their adoption being finalized on Saturday.  They are my step-neices, er, adopted sisters.  I need to keep a notepad.

Vacatn’

We are on vacation!  And we are so excited to be able to see family and relax.  It has been an intense few weeks with lots of transitions and budget planning.

But this is the first time we've had to travel with Wyatt at an age where he can protest his current situation…. aka, free will has been realized.  So we decided to leave at night – drive while he's sleeping.  For the most part it was a success.

We'll be back Thanksgiving night.  Will update more then.  They'll be some timed posts throughout the week.  Cya!

Pregnancy Cravings

These pregnancy cravings are costing money.  Last week, "Honey, can you bring me a ginger ale and some saltines?"  On the way home from church, "Babe, can you get some ice cream on the way home?"  10:30PM last night, "I could really go for some Papa Johns."

IVF Update

"What the heck is going on?"  You may ask.

Well last week we got some great news!  The fertility clinic thought things were going well enough to start seeing our local OBGYN.  No more trips to Charlottesville!

Today Jennifer got to make that visit.  And it went well!  Aside from the ridiculously long wait in the office.

To make a long story short, Jennifer had another ultrasound today.  Got to see legs and feet (or nubs) kicking and squirming!  Heartbeat was very fast (tradition says fast=girl, slow=boy).  And the Dr. said we can consider ourselves a normal pregnancy!  Praise God!

Thank you all who have been praying for us on this journey.  It has been exhausting.  Several times we came to grips with the fact that it was over.  Praise God it wasn't!  Please keep praying for us.  I now need to change the titles of these to "Pregnancy Update!"

IVF Update

Haha.  Now I think God is toying with the Dr.'s.

Good heartbeat.  Good growth.  Much better than last weeks, "I think this is a failed pregnancy."  To God be the glory!

He is concerned.  The baby is measuring 6.5 weeks when it should be 7.5 weeks.  Doesn't seem like a big deal, but apparently it is.  And he said (this is a different Dr. than last week) that he has seen this type of situation turn out for the good once or twice.  Guess we'll be number three!

Keep praying!  The kid won't give up.  And neither will we!

IVF Update

Sorry to say that the Dr. wasn't very hopeful today.  What they saw should have been bigger and the evidence leads them to believe that the pregnancy is failing.  They'll confirm everything Tuesday.  Still in limbo so not sure how to feel.  Thank you for your prayers.  God is in control.
