Sunday Night Mind Dump

  • I preached today.  Thank God I don’t have to do that every week!
  • Really proud of our band today.  Excellent music, and spirit-filled worship!
  • Setup crew really went beyond the call of duty today.  They stayed as long as needed to make sure we were set to go.
  • Oh – yeah, school had no power this morning.  Got the call at 6:15.  Made a few phone calls and had tow-behind generators there within the hour.  Our people are amazing!
  • God answers prayer!  Power company showed up and fixed the problem!
  • Talked about the power of one today.  What could God do with you if you let him take your ordinary and make it extraordinary?
  • Looked like a great turnout for the newcomers lunch!
  • We’re getting office space!  We’ll be in April 1st!
  • I love our church!
  • My in-laws are in to visit!  They are a hoot.  And boy do they love their grandbaby!  Please!  No more toys!
  • Got to go on a date with my wife – movie and Wawa coffee!
  • I love spending time with my wife!  She’s hot!
  • Wyatt looked like a little man today.  Sharp cord jacket.  He’s a lady’s man.
  • Why does every toy Wyatt gets make noise?
  • Actually played "Kind-Hearted Woman Blues" by Clapton this morning as part of my message….you’ll just have to listen to the podcast to understand.
  • We have the best volunteers in the world!
  • New Quake bumper is rockn’  Love me some POD.
  • I’m always looking for a reason to go to the nursery to see Wyatt.  I love his smile!
  • My dad is coming Wednesday.  Can’t wait!
  • My brother and sis-n-law are coming Easter weekend!  March is family month!
  • Easter is right around the corner!  It’s going to be off the hook!
  • Can’t wait to hear from my pastor next week.  It’ll feel like a week off!

War in the South

So I interrupt this blogging hiatus for an interesting piece.  Seems my home state of TN is at war with GA over some land.  Actually GA thinks it should get its land back after not caring about it for 212 years.  Oh, it happens to have the TN river.  Droughts seem to change opinions.  The whole thing is absurd.  But I read a great op-ed on the subject here.  Enjoy!

Newlyweds

So Jennifer and I stayed up later than usual to watch ‘Here Come the Newlyweds’.  It was a hoot.  But we had them all beat.  Jennifer and I met in Feb, engaged in May, and married in August.

We would’ve been good on that show.

Whiteboard

Wibocolor

First, let me say I am looking forward to Whiteboard.  If you are in the D.C. area, MD, VA, or the Eastern Seaboard you should make an effort to be there.  Ben Arment is pulling out all of the stops and it is going to be off the hook. (Weak attempt at buttering up Ben).

Second, I am NOT going to give out the web address.  So everybody please stop asking me and sending me money….actually keep sending me money.  I can use it.  But it won’t get you anywhere!

Third, if you have something of value, like Super Bowl Tickets, Concert Tickets, or flat screen TV’s, I might reconsider.

Random Thoughts

  • I’m out of creamer and it sucks.
  • My coffee pot exploded (subject for another post), but I’m digging my backup – a French Press.
  • Jennifer HAD to go eat and a dinner for work – AT MELTING POT!  So I made her bring me home the take-out equivalent – Long John Silvers.  Oh yeah baby.  Give me some Malt Vinegar.  Back off!
  • I’m cold.
  • Just about tired of house hunting…oh by the way, we’re house hunting.
  • Still can’t find my money.  Crap.
  • Need creamer.  Double crap.
  • I love my volunteers!
  • I wonder if my volunteers would bring me some creamer?
  • P90x is turning into P184x.
  • I am praying over the prayer requests from Sunday.  Unintended effect – I feel closer to them!
  • Can’t wait for Drive Conference!
  • Can’t wait for Sunday!
  • What will God do next?
  • Tennessee lost to KY….triple crap.
  • Wyatt has learned how to splash in the tub….need a bigger mop.
  • Heath Ledger dies…wow.
  • Thompson out.  Now who do I vote for?
  • Really digging the word Buggar…does that make me British?

Pick?

Pickle-head, Pickle, Picks, Dill-Pickle, and other unmentionables.  Man can kids be mean.

But I was mostly called Pick.  And I like it.  My closest friends call me Pick.  So why not?  I choose to embrace.  Besides, all my stuff is copyrighted under Pick’em well Music.  Get it?  Jeremy Pickwell – Pick’em well?  Oh nevermind.

Naked

So I couldn’t leave well enough alone.  After finally getting fed up that my blog was too hard to read (small print, faint text) I decided to change it up.  And with a propensity to overcomplicate things (just ask my wife), I went simple – with some encouragement from Ben Arment in this post.  Now to do something about the header.  Hey Josh!
